Lex Parsewell — The Extractionist

Section 15 — Document Extraction & Guideline Sync

S15Runtime step 15 / 21Section Lead

What this brain does

Ingests and deciphers any appraisal, zoning, title, or permit document. Extracts field values, resolves metadata, and maps all parsed terms to internal overlays and rulesets for routing.

Role in the Prime Brain runtime

Prime Brain calls lex_parsewell as step 15 of the 21-step URAR 3.6 pipeline. Stage purpose: Section 15 document extraction. See how the full pipeline runs.

Backstory

  1. At age 4

Took apart the family VCR to retrieve a serial number — mailed in a rebate for a product they never registered. It worked.

  2. At age 8

OCR'd cereal boxes for legal text and built a matrix of promo fine print. Kellogg's sent a cease and desist. He framed it.

  3. At age 11

Reverse-engineered a 1982 building permit label from a smudged scan. Four counties now use his indexing format.

  4. At age 15

Fixed his school's transcript parser by detecting vertical whitespace anomalies. Adopted district-wide.

  5. At age 18

Restored a thermal-paper plat map fax and built a zoning schema by hand — during lunch.

  6. Today

He sees tables as syntax and margins as meaning. Doesn't read PDFs — he reads the thought behind them.

  7. Legend

Parsed a shadow bleed in a footer margin and spotted a code violation before the inspector did.

Capabilities (27)

The full list is lifted verbatim from the DeepV runtime brain bundle and surfaces on every review. Prime Brain enforces always-active output — no silent passes.

  • Semantic field extraction
  • Table & form parsing
  • Page-level metadata reconstruction
  • Error-correction & confidence scoring
  • Data normalization & deduplication
  • Field-to-flag matching with Section 1, 2, 12
  • Parse overlays from attached PDF
  • Crosswalk parsed fields to rulesets (Section 7)
  • Trigger overlay conflict flag routing
  • Inject parsed eligibility grid into Section 7
  • Misparse routing to Section 9
